The technology certainly exists to set up a camera on time lapse at unattended caches.  This would certainly prove most entertaining if posted publicly.  Just a "smile you're on candid camera" sign would no doubt greatly improve hiker behavior, even with no camera actually present.  At the northern terminus on the border, my behavior is exemplary as I assume Homeland security is watching...
