Evelyn,
I think the unfortunate thing we are facing and what these trail Angeles are dealing with is that, the trail has become much more popular and, more than this, there are to many hikers expecting and, to an extent, demanding to be taken care of as they take their party up the trail. 

Just a few is all it takes to ruin it for all of us.
