It might be worthwhile to educate yourself on water purity concerns
and understand the threats and what you and do about them,

1)protozoans like crypto and giardia
2)bacteria
3)viruses
4)chemical/mineral

and other possible sources for catching gut-bugs, which many consider
to be a bigger threat than the water

Me, personally? I don't use anything in most of the mountains.

I use Aqua Mira in SoCal and and other places where the water sources
can be pretty crappy.
