Many of us still use, for various reasons, “the guide books” by Jeffrey P. Schaffer, The Pacific Crest Trail. They may not be accurate for as where there has been extensive fires (trail changed) but they are the bible of hiking guides for most everything else. A must read if you want to know about the areas you hike vs. just putting in the miles. are we there yet
