I agree with Bob on the bounce-box issue.  I don’t use one, but many hikers
do.  One thing to remember when using a Priority Mail bounce box is
this:  While
the Post Office will forward it ahead at no additional charge if it remains
unopened, they will charge another $10-15 to resend it if you do open it.  If
you open it to take something out, the total cost for that item(s) becomes
the original purchase price plus $10-15 more.
