Steel-Eye's idea of going in August makes a lot of sense if you can swing
it. We hiked through in August of 2010, a very late melt out year, and yet
we found almost no snow, and best of all, no mosquitoes except for the day
before Crater Lake. The rest of the state was good. I was expecting to be
eaten alive from all the stories of Oregon mosquitoes I'd heard, and it
didn't happen.

Have a great hike.
