Hi Patrick,
What mini tablet are you using and will you carry this with you or bounce box it from town to town? I've been debating with to buy a cheap mini tablet and doing something like this.
Thank you,
Tracy

I am taking a very small point and shoot camera which takes AA batteries, avoiding power cable and running out of juice, I also got one with a view finder so I don't have to use the screen all the time which uses a lot of power. I will use a small little SD card to move to pics to mini tablet so I can update a blog as I go, and then when I get to somewhere with an internet connection/power all I have to do is upload everything. Easy! (Well, at least in my head it is). this seemed like the simplest, cheapest and most cable free electronics combo I could think of!

What device(s) and service(s) are lightweight, not powerhogs, cost effective, and functional? Yogi's Guide talks about PEEK, but that's now defunct. Someone offered to lend me an iphone 4 for the hike. Philosophically, I like pay-as-you-go, but I'm not adverse to monthly as long as I'm not locked in. Just so you know, I'm a technoincompetent, so it needs to be spelled out for me.
