Good morning,

I second 1Pint’s comments about the need for a job applicant to project an
image of stability, responsibility, and commitment. As a hiring manager I
would take care to avoid asking certain legally-banned questions, but I
would be alert for indications of questionable social responsibility such
as was the 6-month hike made while the individual was collecting welfare
payments, unemployment or disability compensation, or was it support by
food-stamp purchases? Such information is often volunteered by applicants
during a friendly interview.
