[pct-l] Forest Service rejects efforts to rescind or restrict ban on mountain bikes on PCT!

"What gives?" is that equestrians are rare on the PCT, I saw three the entire trail the time I hiked it.  Owning and maintaining a horse costs thousands of dollars which is why a lot of people don't do it. The equestrians also don't "bomb" down hills and around blind corners either.

>I fail to see how mountain bikers are a problem when equestrians tear up the trail just as much, and leave giant dung piles behind.
