[pct-l] When will I need a Bear canister

The canister is required as soon as you cross the northern boundary of
Yosemite National Park. Unless you're doing 30+ mile days, you can't make it
from there to Tuolumne Meadows (where you can get a rental) in a single day
of hiking - and the rangers know that.

My wife and I will be section hiking from around Ashland OR down through the
Sierras to Kennedy Meadows (approx 1025 mi). At what point will we be
required to carry a bear canister?
