This is basically a "Call-Out" to all 2014 PCT thrus who feel they could use a little "PCT Snow-Savvy" before they hit the trail!

Mountain Education has teamed up with Trail Angel Extraordinaire, Andrea Dinsmore, to offer its famous Snow Basics Course up in Northern Washington (and based out of Andrea Dinsmore’s home!) the weekend of March 7-9, 2014.

It will, of course, stress all the PCT thru-hiker-specific knowledge and applied skills training needed for this next year’s thrus to become more trail-savvy so they may have a confident, fun, and safe PCT adventure!

I know many of you can already "get around" on the snow, but are you aware of the snow-related, Hiking-Specific hazards that you should recognize before you're on top of them? Can you follow a snow-buried trail above and below timberline?

Food for thought, but if you can make this weekend training, you will come away more aware, confident, and wise than you went in and that will give you a safer and more relaxed thru hike!

More information can be found at the Facebook pages for PCT Class of 2014 and Mountain Education (not to mention our school’s new website, www.mountaineduation.org )

Please realize, we are a 32-year-old, non-profit, passion-driven wilderness school that does not require any payment for what we share with you. If you, at the end of your weekend training, feel that you have learned a ton of really valuable stuff that will make your next trip better, a donation would be heartily received! That’s it.

Play Safe. Stay Found!
