Can’t resist chiming in...I am a 65 years old hiker who hikes along about 90% of the time. I STILL get the line of “are you crazy”, “do you carry a gun”, “you are so brave”, “you are stupid”. I hike alone for numerous reasons: I love to, most women my age do not hike, and matching distance and speed is never easy. I’m proud to say I’m a woman who hikes alone. I’m proud to be a hiker.
