The difference between Trail Magic and a supported hike, IMO:

Trail Magic cannot be relied upon, and can be spotty.

A supported hike is one where a person or persons meets the hiker at
regular points along the way so the hiker doesn't have to make regular side
trips to get food and supplies, making the load the hiker carries and the
time they spend away from trail much less.

There is plenty of room in between, but like all things, the devil is in
the details.

Since these really are unofficial records, any arguing over the definition
of the terms should also remain unofficial, officially. ;-)
