My partner and I hit the pass on this past Tuesday, intending to go west to
get him to the airport to fly home. We managed to hitch to the spot where
the closure began, and then hitch on a construction vehicle across the
area, and then hitch down the hill beyond the closure. It was a bit tough
to get through, but nothing bigger than a tough day on the trail. The
storms were crazy, and the creeks came way up. Miners Creek above the
Suiattle River was big and wide and brown, and there were fords all along
above Agnes Creek on the way down to Stehekin. The trail seemed fine other
than some messy temporary fords.
