They are not "long distance hikers"  ..... yet.

By the time they get to KM, they will be, at least those who make it that far.

This is one of the reasons I generally don't enjoy interacting with
the current class at the Kick Off that much. Many of them have no clue
and are full of hubris. It takes about 500 miles for that to be kicked
out of them, and replaced with humility.
