[pct-l] Sawyer water filter

I went through 5 Sawyer bags last year on the CDT and tried to use them at
times just as you are suggesting. I went back to soda bottles for my day
to day water carrying however as they don't weigh much more, but will stand
up to terrific tough usage. The Sawyer bags just broke and punctured too
easily for me. Some folks I hiked with were more careful than me and
maybe didn't squeeze the bags as hard and only went through 2 on the same
hike. In a pinch I did use them for the few stretches where I needed extra
capacity, but I was always a bit trepidatious due to having had so many
failures.

All that being said, I think it's a good system and will use it again. I
have heard that this year's bottles have been upgraded and made stronger.
I don't know if that is true or not. If they have, it will be a great
system. Maybe someone will chime in.
