Yes, it's worth it. I paid the flat $100 fee. The articles are, perhaps, the best part. These are all original and the content puts paper mags to shame. Truly a good electronic magazine.
About 1/3 of the forum postings are over run with people trying to sell stuff at generally poor prices. I usually ignore them. The other third are relatively good, with the other third the same old beginner stuff, over and over, or, debating the merits of 1/4" shoe laces over 5/32" shoe laces.
There are a dozen people that really know their stuff, making it all worth it, though.
My thoughts only . . .

The article at BackpackingLight.com by itself is $5 or $25 for a annual membership or $100+ for a lifetime membership. I'm wondering if folks on this forum who have a membership would care to comment on whether they feel a membership was money well spent? Are their articles original content, or are they reselling stuff that they found on the web elsewhere?
