[pct-l] Advice needed - Injury

I really believe that in those kinds of situations you are the best judge
of your ability to hike. But really there's a huge difference between a
real injury and just nagging pains due to stress/use/overuse. Experience
would be the best teacher to learn the difference. I am no doctor in
anyway, but if your discomfort started just 10 days, maybe it can help to
know why and how they started. Have you been training more than usual,
causing this problem to appear?

What I would do in this situation would be to try cut my walking to where I
do not get the discomfort (maybe walk the 0.5 mile a day, and do the walk 2
times a day), stretch, ice, hot shower, and take lots and lots and lots of
fish oil (10,000 - 100,000 mg if you can - you cannot overdose on
fishoil!!!!). Fish oil will make any inflamation disappear, and you have no
side effects like ibuprofen. **

Doing this should be a good indicator of your ability to do the whole 2600
miles, or the pace at which you could do it/or part of it. Anyway, those
are my thoughts, and what I would do in such situation...
