[pct-l] Mosquitos

Hi Shepherd,
I've had that same observation. If there are mosquitoes or other insects around they will manage to get into my Hubba tent before I can zipper the "door" closed. Then they will gather high up where you describe. That is when I go through the ritual of killing them. I just crush them with a folded piece of paper, like a page of the guide book. I never wait to see if they might bite me while I sleep. I don't wear my insect repellant clothes or apply insect repellant to exposed skin areas while in my tent.

Are you going back on the trail this summer?  I am considering riding the Colorado Trail.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience.  Several times
while camped in my Gatewood Cape, Mosquitos would enter.  They did not
bite me or even brother me.  They all flew up to the top of my shelter
and landed on the inside of the shelter walls where they appeared to be
content to just hang out.  Perhaps they were attracted to the defused
light through the walls?  I find it a good place to sleep, maybe they do
too.  Does anyone who knows what this behavior is all about want to fill
me?  Thanks.

Shepherd
