[pct-l] A few gear questions

When you look at Halfmiles maps, Yogi's trail guidebook and Erik the Blacks
guidebook, you will see there are plenty of campsites along the trail.
Having a large footprint can cause space issues as these campsites are not
usually empty or huge in size. The point that Menorider makes about free
standing is good, but many people didn't use a freestanding tent and did
OK. The real advantage of a free standing tent is not having to drive
stakes into the ground to hold it up which difficult in do in rocky or hard
soil. Considering all of the things you are considering taking, I am
thinking you might have a weight issue you will need to resolve - but that
is just my opinion.
