Indeed it is!
It is important to Hike Your Own Hike. Prepare by hiking and backpacking and learning what works for you. Don't worry about how you or your gear compares to anyone else. If you can find Recline's journal at Trail Journals, read that for inspiration.
Start slow. There's nothing wrong with doing 11 miles per day. After three weeks you'll be in cruise mode and then anything is possible.
