My friend Richard's dayhike last weekend from Shepherd Pass to Onion Valley, including Forester pass, pictures:

Of note, the Tyndall Creek Crossing, which was raging a week ago, is now at august levels, and trivial.
A hiker he met heading south described Glen Pass as "technical".

He is doing the JMT this year as a series of dayhikes.
