Good morning, Kathi,

The trail east from Crabtree meadows ascends to a 13,600-ft. ridge south of
Mt. Whitney, then continues down the eastern slope to the road at Whitney
Portal. At the ridge a side trail starts north to Whitney’s summit.
Half-Mile's (free) maps show the trail all the way through.
