I love mine.  I still carry one when day hiking in winter on Mt. Diablo and
there is possible rain.  It's the cheap version of the Golite, but I think
it's really the same umbrella.  I snap my chest strap over the handle and
unless it's really windy, it stays right there, covering me and the upper
part of my pack, and I can still use my hiking poles and use my camera to
shoot cool, misty shots on drizzly days.  In sun I travel in a dark space
and in rain, I can leave my jacket open for better breathability.  As my
old one is pretty shot, I just bought two new ones for the CDT this year.

Don't leave home without it!
