[pct-l] trail conditions: Donner Summit to Sierra City, Castle Crags to Lassen NP

There are small patches of snow up to the top of Castle Pass, then nearly continuous snowdrifts past the Peter Grubb hut. There's still snow on all of the North facing slopes and in all of the valleys from there until Jackson Reservoir - the ridge run before Jackson is clear of snow. After Henness Pass Road, the trail is clear through to Sierra City.

The trail from Castle Crags to Lassen is clear of snow, except for a small snowy section up on the ridge north of Burney Falls, where the trail can be a little bit difficult to follow due to logging activity. The Burney Falls Camp Store, as of late May anyway, was open 10-4, not 8-8. There's still a whole bunch of snow in Lassen.

Hope this helps the vanguard,

David C
