We went from Cascade locks to White Pass two weeks ago. We hit snow about
6miles from Cascade Locks. I would highly recommend a GPS. We are using
halfmiles waypoints and tracks. They have brought us through hundreds of
miles of snow in Oregon and Washington. I didn't do the Goat Rocks. The
fast hikers that are passing us said the knife edge is clear of snow but
there are some scary snow stretches(cornices and steeps)
We have been using microspikes and ice axes throughout.
