Just an fyi. On a day hike on the PCT today, going past Shaver Lake, north of Carson Pass heading for Echo Summit, Malarky was seen speeding past with J.R. "trying to catch up to him". Both looked well and speedy! We managed to catch J.R. and give him a fresh apple. :)
