Look at other phones. On the Iphone you cannot change the battery like
you can on many of the Android phones. On my phone I replaced the
standard battery (1300 mah) to an extended version (3500 mah) and the
batteries are light enough and cheap enough ($7 on Ebay) that you can
carry several of them and charge them when you go into town.

Subject: [pct-l] charging your ipod

More and more often I hear that hikers use the iphone for journaling,
gps, digital maps, e-mails....
so they use it a lot... every day for hours?

how do they keep the iphone charged? a little solar device for the big
ipod?

I don't have one yet but my brother does. he has to charge his iphone
nearly every 1,5 days be using it in a normal way... not for business!

any suggestions?
thanks robert
