There is always the possibility of using Tyvek Type 14, which is
softer and breathable - which could allow you to wrap it around your
bag if things get really bad weather wise to act as a breathable vapor
barrier. It is a little bit less tough than Type 10 (what most of you
are probably using) but the Type 14 would be less nosy, much softer,
breathable and lighter. While the  durability is obviously not as good
as Type 10 it could be a sweet trade-off if you are thinking about
including some in different locations along the trail.
