Good afternoon, Tom,

Hikers off through Kearsarge Pass needn’t stay or shop in
Independence.  There’s
a regular bus route up and down Rt. 395.  I’ve ridden it from Lone Pine to
Reno, stopping at every third mud-puddle along the way.
