While we had a decent amount of snow in Washington last year, it wasn't
record-breaking by any means (working from memory here). The problem last
year was a very cold spring that allowed a lot of late snow to fall and
delayed the melt-off by a couple of weeks. It's still hard to say how this
year will compare to last year in terms of thru-hiking in Washington.
