On my first section hike - Lassen to Whitney - my girlfriend and I 
carried two sets of fleece, one for sleeping, one for the trail. The 
were homemade and worked really well.  My pack at the start of the trip 
was 72 pounds.  Hers was 54.  Only 25 pounds of those were food...  (10 
days - campground on Hat Creek to Belden... - 10 mpd...)
