I've limited experience using PCT. I carry a TracFone prepaid. Got it
mostly for use when I travel to be reachable and because public phones have
almost disappeared.
I think that what carrier one selects, Verizon, AT&T, or ?? is more
important than the specific fone. halfmile has info on his site about cell
fone coverage on the PCT, but I'm not sure how current the info is. In 2010
I had coverage via Verizon at Sheep Camp Spring in sec R. Later at
Callihan's neither my partner on her fone or me could get coverage.
Last year as I recall, I had coverage at every camp as well as near
Greensprings Summit on Or Hwy 140.
