Updates from the Wapinitia Pass trail register are posted at the link below
- 33x Thru (20x NOBO, 8x SOBO, 1x FF), 36x Section and 106x day/short
leg/unknown hikers as of 8/16 @ 5:55 pm.

Speculation based on last year (which was a very high snow year down south)
and early Wapinitia Pass registry signings show only the early edge has yet
to reach Wapinitia Pass. Given the low snow year down south, I originally
expected the pack might arrive here 1-2 weeks early this year. Not clear
that is happening. Last year the bubble came through about 8/27 - 9/12.
There were maybe 4 - 8 thru-hikers a day with 14 on one particular day (and
there may have been others who didn't declare themselves a thru-hiker or
didn't sign the register).

A rough guess is that the pack is still 1 - 2 weeks from Wapinitia Pass.
Doing a little math and assuming 25-30 mi per day, that says the lead of
the pack will be around McKenzie Pass this weekend and the tail will be
around Hwy 138/Diamond Lake Hwy crossing. Willamette Pass/Odell Lake would
be about in the middle.

Next online update in about 2 weeks.
