It is amazing how someone I didn't really know at all has touched my
life and his loss has made me so sad. I can think of no better way to
honor his memory than to contribute to that which he loved so much. So I
will be making a donation in his name and memory to the PCTA so they can
continue to do their work to keep the trail what it is and better. I
would like to encourage others to do the same if you are able.

Huge prayers for his family, I cannot even begin to know how hard this
is for them.

He handled emergency communications for the event and showed a cool, calm response to several "lost or missing" hiker reports over the years. He helped with AV, local logistics, and many other important aspects of the event, as well as serving on the board of directors.
