I wish I'd seen the post about this sooner. I used this spring yesterday and it was nasty, worst water I've used in 1800 miles. It is indeed a steep downhill, although the trail is obvious enough. The 'spring' is now two mucky pools about 1.5' across and 4" deep, covered in bugs and inhabited by frogs. There is no flow, and taking a few liters clearly lowered the level. Use Ranger Spr and wish the froggies good luck finding a new home soon.
