For that matter, most of us here in the Pacific North-Wet call Central Oregon "the High Desert."

It’s my understanding there is a classification know as high elevation desert. Bend, OR, (towards the east of OR) is an example as is probably a good portion of the PCT through OR. The coastal portion of OR is your wetter areas such as Salem and Portland.
