[pct-l] Base weight

Hey,

Did a successful thru-hike this year. My base weight was around yours, maybe
a little heavier. I'm 5'5" and 130 pounds now, and that weight worked for
me. I also probably increased my base weight as the hike went on, although
rarely does anyone keep any real track after the first few hundred miles.
It's funny... once you get down to around a certain weight (12-15 pounds I'd
say) and after you've been on the trail for a while, you really don't notice
a lot when you add/subtract base weight stuff from your pack. You'll notice
when you pick up a liter more of water than you're used to carrying, or when
you splurge and carry fresh produce on the trail, but carrying an extra pair
of socks or another shirt or something doesn't really bother you. This
doesn't mean carry a ton of extra stuff. But at around 15 pounds or less,
it's not that big of a deal. Also, you'll figure out what you do or don't
use when you get on the trail.

As for cameras, I had a Canon Powershot SD980is, which had an ultra
wide-angle lens for a little camera. It took amazing pictures, mostly
because of the wider angle. I'd definitely recommend it.

Hope you have a great hike!
