If my memory serves me right you are correct.  I believe a high percentage 
of SAR operations on San Jacinto are in that area.  Very hot in summer and 
dangerous in winter.  Very steep terrain which folks frequently 
underestimate.

Are you referring to the Skyline, aka Cactus to Clouds, aka Outlaw trail? I 
believe that trail has at least one exposed snow chute that can be icy and 
has resulted in several fatal falls. It can also be hard to navigate. I 
wouldn't recommend that to anyone who isn't familiar with San Jacinto.
