[pct-l] Weekend Hike (Tangentially PCT-Related)

Hi,

I was thinking I would hike the Skyline-to-Sea Trail this Thanksgiving
vacation, only to find out that all the camp sites along the trail are
closed for the Winter.

The conversation I had with the ranger on the phone about this was a
bit comical. It went something like this:

Ranger: "All the campgrounds are closed."

Me: "So, the trail is closed then?"

Ranger: "Well, you can hike the trail, you just can't camp."

Me: "It's 30 miles."

Ranger: "Well, yeah, you can't do it in one day."

Me: "So, effectively, the trail is closed."

Ranger: "Yeah, I guess you can't do it all in one day."

Anyhow...

So, now that my plans have been foiled, I was wondering if anyone
could recommend a good three-day-two-night hike somewhere reasonably
close to Santa Cruz County that I could tackle on
Friday/Saturday/Sunday this weekend? I think my fallback plan might
be to do some hiking at Henry Coe, but I was curious if anyone had any
other recommendations.

How is this at all related to the PCT, you ask? Well, this was one of
the weekend training hikes I was planning for myself leading up to my
starting to section hike the PCT in the Spring.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
