it makes little difference if it is a non-profit or a for-profit
organization.  The management of a large complex organization requires the
same skills and the people who do the work and take the risks deserve the
same compensation.  In fact a non-profit may require better financial
management skills in that they do not have the same income streams. The
question should be is the salary in-line with the budget of the
organization.  The CEO of a $100,000 (annual sales) company usually is paid
less than a CEO of a $1,000,000 company.
