[pct-l] KM thru-hikers?

Good afternoon!  Ned's satphone report said that his group was being
followed-on by thru-hikers at KM.  Are there hikers who are thereabouts
who have walked all that way northbound?   If they skipped sections, it
seems curious why they would skip to start north from KM across the
snow...
 
No one posting (that I have read) is anywhere near that far north.
Anyone know if there are significant numbers forging out over the snow?
Resupply must be a trick.
