It is truly inspiring and encouraging to us at Mountain Education that a current thru hiker, on-trail right now, would be, not only interested, but so hungry to learn how to get through the snowy High Sierra that he is willing to leave the trail south of Kennedy Meadows to hitch up there in time to catch the Snow Advanced Course-1 departing KM May 20th!

He wants to see what the Sierra really looks like, learn how to follow a snow-covered trail through a forest and above the trees, cross the swollen creeks, and safely climb and glissade down Forester and Kearsarge Passes, all before he gets there on his own later on his thru hike to Canada.

After the SAC arrives at the Onion Valley trailhead on May 30th, he will then re-join the trail where he left off and head on up to KM to re-trace his steps with new confidence and security!
