One can also check the following Yosemite NP web page for Tioga plowing progress:
<http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/tioga.htm>, which is due for another update
soon (last update = 4/29/11)...
It is not uncommon in heavier snow years for the Tioga highway to not open until
mid to late June - and the road needs to be open before ANY services are available
at Tuolumne Meadows (i.e., the store & PO)...  Take note 'early' Sierra entry thrus!
