[pct-l] Rope for spring stream crossings

I can't stress enough how important it is to wear shoes or boots (not
flip-flops) when crossing something wide, deep and swift. If you hate wet
shoes (who doesn't) and don't want to carry a second pair (who does), then
try bringing a pair of *cotton* socks with you. After crossing put on your
dry cotton socks and walk 50 yards in your wet shoes...your socks will be
soaked and you can easily wring them out (you'll be able to ring out far
more from cotton than wool). Repeat about 4 or 5 times. This will dry your
shoes (or boots) pretty dang quick.
