Since 2003, flood damage has rerouted the famed Pacific Crest Trail over
poor trails and along a road, but a final bridge replacement will soon put
hikers back on course. While many through hikers have ignored the trail
closure, instead opting for a very risky river crossing, it appears that
this year things will be much easier.
