"Acceptable in the the hiker world?" I guess. As long as he walked every mile from Canada to Mexico at some point. Skipping even a mile in a car isn't acceptable. In a high snow year like 2011...Skippers, Flippers, and Road Walkers are everywhere....so being able to say "No Flips, No Skips, No Road Walks!" has a nice ring to it...hahaha
