[pct-l] Erik the Black's Maps: They're Excellent!!!

Just another plug for Erik the Black: His maps are excellent. I've compared them to Halfmile's GPS waypoints and they are dead on. Both guys' maps are great. Bottom line is you do have to print off Halfmile's maps. That's a lot of work and a lot of money. Erik's maps are high quality, full color and bound together well. I would make a friendly plea with all on the forum to not pass opinion or judgment on products that you have not used. I see people on Trailspace or REI review pages reviewing gear that "their friends use." That's not a helpful review. So...if you haven't used the maps...don't review the maps. Erik, like Yogi and Halfmile, is a wonderful guy who has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into a product that is an incredibly helpful and useful resource for thru-hikers.

Cheers, and thanks to all of you giving great advice and reviews daily,

David L

RE:
several people on whiteblaze found problems with ericks books, and didn't feel
they justified the cost.

i've personally not used them. it is hard to want for more than halfmiles maps

... which are free... just leave a donation if you have something to spare.
halfmile's maps are awesome... but so is yogi's guide. combine both and you'd
have more than you could want.

Any suggestions on which maps to use? I'm lovin the looks of the Trail Atlas
Pocket Guides by Eric the Black.... I'm on a budget and they're pretty spendy.
Is it worth the splurge?
