There's a Death Valley to Whitney route described on

You'd have to make some strategic water drops first.

I haven't heard about an established route from Las Vegas to DV, but
it would be really interesting geologically to walk from Pahrump to Rhyolite
and into Death Valley through Titus Canyon. Awesome petroglyphs there, too.

If you do it, I'd sure like to hear about it!
