The guidebook occasionally mentions campsite locations.

Personally I found that having to locate campsites added to the adventure
of hiking the PCT. It does require some planning ahead at times though
since the PCT can contour along a slope for miles at times. Generally
a little bit of study of the contour lines, location of creeks, trail
junctions and so on will give you a pretty good idea of where you'll find
some flat space for the night.
